Nigeria has been experiencing recurring cholera outbreaks, driven by poor sanitation, inadequate access to clean water, and the effects of the rainy season which contaminates water sources. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reports significant numbers of cases, especially during the June-September rainy period. While the country has implemented public health measures, including surveillance and vaccination campaigns, ongoing challenges remain due to infrastructure gaps and environmental conditions.
